Red Wing Releases Employee Tracking Tool for Pending Health Care Rules

Accounting and financial software maker Red Wing Software has created a report tool within its CenterPoint Payroll Software designed to track employee status for the upcoming Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requirement that employers with 50 or more full-time employees must offer health coverage.

While the PPACA requirement does not begin until 2014, employers will need to look back at hours worked during 2013 to determine eligibility. Some employers may also want to monitor and stay up to date on how many hours employees are working and whether they are qualifying for full-time status (a minimum of 30 hours per week), so they know what to expect when the requirement is in place.

The new CenterPoint Payroll Software report is designed to help employers stay aware of their employees' hours and enable them to report that information when required, for whatever time period necessary.
