Stephen Baldwin Arrested for Failing to Pay State Taxes

Actor Stephen Baldwin has reportedly been arrested and charged with failing to pay over $350,000 in income taxes to the State of New York.

Baldwin, whose older brothers are fellow actors Alec, Billy, and Daniel, was arraigned Thursday in a court in Nyack, N.Y., and released without posting bail, according to the Journal News.

Prosecutors claim that he failed to fail state income taxes for three years from 2008-2010. He is due back in court in early February.

Baldwin, 46, has starred in several movies, including “The Usual Suspects,” “Threesome,” “Fled” and “The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas.” His older brother Alec stars in the TV series “30 Rock” and his other brothers have also acted in a number of movies and TV shows.

Beyond his tax debts, Stephen Baldwin has experienced other financial problems in recent years. He and his wife Kennya reportedly defaulted on paying their mortgage and their home was auctioned off in June 2009 after Bankers Trust foreclosed on the property. He filed for bankruptcy the following month, claiming he owed more than $2.3 million (seee Baldwin Borther Goes Bankrupt).

Last year, Baldwin suggested he might run for mayor of New York in 2013 when his brother Alec was said to be considering entering the race.
