Abrams Little-Gill Loberfeld gardens, herds goats for 'Day of Service'

Last month, the staff of Massachusetts firm Abrams Little-Gill Loberfeld held an interesting volunteer event at the Mass Audubon’s Habitat Education Center in Belmont. Part of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs' "Day of Service," staff spent the day herding goats, gardening, and cleaning up the grounds of the Center.

The Habitat Education Center is a local nature preserve complete with acres of forest, gardens, a farming area, and nature trails, with volunteers maintaining the grounds year-round. Abrams Little-Gill Loberfeld, acting on behalf the MSCPA's statewide Day of Service and the firm's own Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, helped garden and herd goats, which help naturally cut the preserve's fields of grass.

The Habitat Education Center is also used for a variety of other programs, including a partnership with a local school for the blind to provide walking trails with braille monuments.
