FEI Elects New Board and Chairman

Financial Executives International has elected a new slate of executive officers and members of the board of directors for the fiscal year, effective July 1.

Mitch Danaher, deputy controller of General Electric Company, will serve as national board chair. He has worked at GE since 1982, when he served as a recruit in their Financial Management Program. Danaher has served as a member of the U.S. delegation to the International Accounting Standards Committee, as well as a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s Emerging Issues Task Force. He was named to FEI's board of directors in 2012 and is active in FEI's Committee on Corporate Reporting.

Additional elected officers for the 2014-2015 year include:

• Gregory Ulferts, professor and director of the Graduate Business Program at the University of Detroit Mercy will serve as national vice chair. Since joining FEI in 1984, Ulferts has served in various roles within FEI's Detroit chapter and the national organization, including as Secretary of the board of directors and as a member of FEI's Budget & Finance Committee, Diversity Committee and Financial Executives Research Foundation's Research Committee. 

• Peter S. Rockett, vice president of finance and administration at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, will serve as national treasurer. Rockett has been a member of FEI since 1999. He was president of FEI's Boston Chapter in 2012-2013 and currently chairs its Nominating Committee. Prior to his officer roles as vice president, treasurer and secretary of the chapter, he chaired the Professional Development Committee from 2006-2009.

• Ann Svoboda, corporate treasurer of Carestream Health, Inc. will serve as national secretary. Svoboda has held various senior finance positions at companies such as Culligan, Cadbury Schweppes, Royal Ahold and Wackenhut. She has been a member of various national committees, including the Committee on Benefits and Finance, the Committee on Corporate Treasury, and FERF's Research Committee. Svoboda has also been a member of FEI's New Jersey Chapter since 2009 and joined the board of directors in 2012.

Hollein in a statement. “These individuals possess expertise and industry knowledge and commitment to FEI. This dynamic group of individuals represents our dedicated members and we strongly believe that under their leadership the organization is well positioned to further drive its mission over the next year.”

In addition, seven professionals will serve as members of FEI's board of directors: Prat Bhatt, senior vice president, corporate controller, and chief accounting officer at Cisco Systems, representing FEI’s Silicon Valley Chapter; John G. Panetta, director of government accounting at Raytheon Company, representing the FEI Boston Chapter; Ellen R. Boyer, CFO at Logic20/20 Inc., representing the FEI Washington State Chapter; Thomas W. Haller, CPA, a financial management and reporting advisor, representing the FEI Connecticut/Westchester Chapter; Andrea Edmonds, accounting policy, retirement and bonus accounting manager at Intel Corporation, representing FEI’s New Mexico Chapter; Ann Kaesermann, vice president and controller at Hilcorp Energy Company, representing the FEI Houston Chapter; and Thomas E. Feeney, CFO at Bryce Company, representing FEI’s Memphis Chapter.
