New Vice Chair Appointed at IASB

The trustees of the IFRS Foundation, which oversees of the International Accounting Standards Board, have appointed Sue Lloyd as vice chair of the board.

Lloyd’s term starts Nov. 1; it runs through Dec. 31, 2018, and can be renewed for a second term. She succeeds Ian Mackintosh, who served from 2011 until this year.

She has worked at the IFRS Foundation since 2009, and was director of capital markets and senior director of technical activities before being made a board member in 2014. She has a background in investment banking in the U.K. and Australia, and was previously a member of the Australian Accounting Standards Board.

“Sue’s leadership skills and broad experience both in accounting standard-setting and the financial sector make her the perfect candidate for the role as vice-chair,” IFRS Foundation chair Michel Prada said in a statement.

IASB Chairman Hans Hoogervorst said, “I look forward to working closely with Sue. She is an outstanding board member whose technical knowledge of IFRS standards is widely respected.”

Lloyd holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Auckland in New Zealand.
