The Securities and Exchange Commission announced that it has approved the renewal of its Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies.
The committee provides recommendations to the SEC regarding rules, regulations and policies related to emerging companies with less than $250 million in public market capitalization in the areas of:
- Their public reporting requirements.
- Capital raising through private placements and public securities offerings.
- Trading in their securities.
Established in 2011 and renewed in 2013, the committee will continue to operate for another two years.
“This committee plays an integral role in advising the commission on the important issues that affect small businesses,” said SEC Chair Mary Jo White in a statement. “Renewing the charter enables the commission to continue to benefit from the committee’s expertise and advice.”
