BKD merges in Paragon Audit & Consulting

BKD LLP has added Paragon Audit & Consulting, building the firm’s internal audit and enterprise risk management practices in Denver.

As part of the deal, 10 staff members and one partner from Paragon will join BKD’s downtown Denver office, which has approximately 2,600 employees, including more than 270 partners, offering assurance, tax and accounting services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We want to extend a warm welcome to our new BKD team members,” said BKD CEO Ted Dickman in a statement. “Paragon’s commitment to client service and true expertise will help us achieve our goals as we move forward.”

BKD, based in Springfield, Mo., ranked 12th on Accounting Today’s 2017 list of the Top 100 Firms. BKD has 35 offices in 16 states, and said its fiscal year 2016 revenues were $550 million. It is the largest U.S. member of the Praxity international alliance of firms.

Paragon will be joining BKD’s National Advisory Services and Enterprise Risk Solutions practices. “With the addition of Paragon, our ERS practice will double in size,” said ERS Managing Partner Angela Morelock in a statement. “The combination strengthens BKD’s internal audit resources and provides Paragon enhanced growth opportunities and market presence throughout BKD’s geographic footprint.”
