Braver PC Merges into Marcum LLP

Marcum LLP has added three divisions of Braver PC to its roster.

Marcum picked up the accounting division, business strategies and valuation services from Braver. According to Marcum’s spokeswoman, Braver’s two remaining divisions, Braver Wealth Management and Technology Solutions, will operate independently under the Braver name.

Braver, which has offices in Needham, Mass., and Providence, R.I., has offered accounting, tax, assurance, business and consulting services to family-owned and privately-held businesses, as well as not-for-profit and governmental organizations and individuals.

Braver has 14 partners and more than 100 staff who have since joined Marcum. By adding Braver’s Needham and Providence offices to the firm, Marcum’s New England region now has six locations. The other New England offices include Boston and Raynham, Mass., and Hartford and New Haven, Conn.

“Braver’s deep experience and broad services capability in the private sector complement Marcum’s strengths, both regionally and nationally, and bring significant additional expertise to our organization,” Marcum managing partner Jeffrey Weiner said in a statement. “Braver will be a valuable new resource for our clients and an important new asset to our New England practice.”

“Marcum’s national presence and extensive resources offer an opportunity for Braver to greatly expand the services we are able to offer our clients, while giving us the opportunity to integrate our experience into the service mix for Marcum clients," Braver’s former chairman and CEO Dennis Pellecchia said in a statement. "Our integration with Marcum also provides significant opportunity for growth and professional development for our staff.”

In light of the combination, Pellecchia has joined Marcum as partner-in-charge of Marcum’s new Needham office.
