Columbus Acquires Client Strategy Group

Microsoft reseller Columbus has acquired Microsoft Dynamics ERP-focused consultancy Client Strategy Group, growing its presence in the United States.

CSG provides Microsoft Dynamics AX solutions. Founded in 2003, it has 19 employees and is headquartered in Cleveland. CSG will operate under the name CSG - a Columbus company.

With over 250 staff and $65 million in 2015 revenue, Columbus ranked No. 5 on Accounting Today’s VAR 100 list.

“Microsoft is bringing their entire business model to a more subscription-based or cloud environment. We’ve been reacting to that by certifying ourselves in cloud, as a cloud service provider, etc.—and also acquiring CSG,” Olsen told Accounting Today. “We did this solely to be better prepared for this subscription-based model, where you need to deliver constant value to customers. Because if you don’t do that, customers can in the future more and more easily just migrate to a new partner.”

“With the combination of coast-to-coast reach in the US, a global presence and the extensive resources of Columbus, I am confident that CSG will be even better positioned to deliver exceptional services to our clients that will increase the value they receive from their ERP investment”, said CSG CEO Dave Hooper in a statement.
