COSO Certificate Program Goes On-Demand

The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission, also known as COSO, has introduced a self-study, on-demand learning program for attaining the COSO Internal Control Certificate.

The American Institute of CPAs, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Institute of Internal Auditors all plan to offer the course in January, aiming it at accountants, auditors and other financial professionals. The program can mix together both self-paced and live training, giving candidates the ability to become experts in designing, implementing and monitoring a system of internal control based on COSO’s updated 2013 Internal Control-Integrated Framework.

“The new on-demand program brings flexibility and convenience so that candidates may pace themselves and achieve the certificate on their own schedule,” said COSO chair Robert B. Hirth Jr. in a statement. “For those who want to develop their knowledge and skills in managing an Internal Control system, either of the two learning formats takes you through the Internal Control-Integrated Framework from start to finish through the use of real-world scenarios.”
