CALIFORNIA

KPMG LLP celebrated its 50th anniversary in San Diego, marking the 1961 acquisition by predecessor firm Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. of major local firm Everts & Esenoff. KPMG San Diego serves clients in the life sciences, biotechnology, consumer markets, real estate, telecommunications, technology, and software industries within the San Diego area.

 

ILLINOIS

Grant Thornton LLP, Chicago, was chosen to assist the Office of Mortgage Settlement Oversight in the national mortgage settlement. The firm will assist with overseeing the $25 billion settlement that involves five of the nation’s largest banks as well as the U.S. government. Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP, Chicago, was also selected to assist on the settlement.

 

MARYLAND

Reznick Group, Baltimore, raised $14,000 during its 11th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Rocky Point Golf Course in Towson, Md. More than 120 participants donated to The Anderson Children Education Fund.
