Eide Bailly Merges in Utah Firm

Top 100 Firm Eide Bailly LLP has agreed to merge in Ogden-based James & Co.

James & Co. founder and president Dan James, CPA, and his staff of 10 will join Eide Bailly’s Ogden office, boosting its Utah presence to 21 partners and 114 staff.

“We have built a strong presence in Utah over the past few years and become the first regional CPA firm in the state,” said Eide Bailly CEO and managing partner Dave Stende. “The addition of James & Co. will add depth and breadth to this great knowledge base, including 30 years of specialized auto dealership knowledge and expertise.”

Stende noted that Eide Bailly is focused on building industry niches – like auto dealerships – and relevant specialty services in order to help clients with more of their business needs.

James said that the merger will be positive for clients and staff: “Our goal has always been to help our clients be more successful and it’s rewarding to participate in their strategic decisions, help them with business solutions and contribute to their growth. Joining Eide Bailly will give us the structure and resources to do even more for our clients. We are very excited about this opportunity.”

In particular, he noted that being part of a larger firm will also help recruiting efforts: “Current staff, as well as future hires, will have more opportunities for upward advancement and leadership roles. Eide Bailly is known for its supportive culture, and staff really seem to enjoy their jobs. This is all very attractive to our staff.”

James founded his firm in 1983, and serves clients throughout the Western United States.
