NSBN LLP CPAs & Business Consultants, Los Angeles, supported the Concern Foundation as the beneficiary of its 23rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held in November 2015. The firm has raised over $1 million over 23 years, and will hold its 24th annual charity tournament on November 14.

CONNECTICUT

BlumShapiro, West Hartford, was named the Best Accountant or CPA Firm in the 2016 Hartford Magazine Readers Poll. Over 150,000 votes were cast in various categories for the 13th annual poll.

ILLINOIS

The Illinois CPA Society held its Jumpstart to Accounting event on Friday, April 22, drawing in over 150 accounting students from 25 colleges and universities. … Crowe Horwath LLP, Chicago, has unveiled a new brand platform: “Smart decisions today. Lasting value tomorrow.” The firm used global branding agency Siegel+Gale to assist with the rebranding, and created the new brand based on market research and an analysis of the firm’s culture, including its management philosophy, core values and vision, as well as existing client and people engagement feedback. The brand platform will be rolled out throughout 2016 with an updated Web site, marketing collateral and thought leadership with messaging and imagery that supports the new brand. The firm’s logo and core purpose, “Building Value with Values,” remain the same. … Plante Moran, Chicago, announced a new executive series titled “History Repeats Itself. Will You Be Ready?” The five-part series, which began on May 26, includes 30-minute weekly webcasts offering conversation with firm managing partner Gordon Krater and other Plante Moran experts. Each session in the series will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern time. There is no charge to attend the webcasts, although prior registration is required. For more information or to register for one or more sessions, visit executives.plantemoran.com. … Grant Thornton LLP will serve as the Official Professional Services Partner for the Tony Awards, which are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing and honor theatre professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway. UNITED KINGDOM

BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Odey Asset Management and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank have joined the International Accounting Standards Boards’ Investors in Financial Reporting program, which was established in 2014 to increase the board’s engagement with the investment community.
