ILLINOIS  

BDO USA, Chicago, released its 2016 Technology Outlook Survey, which polls 100 technology CFOs, and discovered that less than half (48 percent) expect technology business valuations to increase in 2016, and less than half (46 percent) expect to see an uptick in IPO activity this year, down from 52 percent of respondents last year. … Deloitte and the Executives' Club of Chicago have formed the new Diversity Leadership Council and program series to expand diversity and inclusion awareness, best practices and thought leadership for Chicago's business community.

 

NEW YORK

Morison International and KS International have merged to form a U.S. $1 billion-strongv international association. The name of the new association will be Morison KSi, and it will have 1,201 partners, 8,990 professional staff, and 375 offices in 88 countries, effective as of 1 April 2016. ... Marcum LLP has announced the charity beneficiary for its 2016 Marcum MicroCap Conference: Help for Children/Hedge Funds Care.

 

OHIO

The Ohio Society of CPAs has given Sen. Larry Obhof, R-Medina, its Outstanding Legislator Award.

 

PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES

Hassouneh Auditing Firm in the Palestinian territories has joined global accountancy network UHY. Formed in 1981, the firm is based in Hebron and has a team of 14, including two partners.

 

POLAND

FL Tax has joined international association of independent accounting and law firms Alliott Group. Founded in 2011 by two former Big Four tax practitioners, Pawel Falkowski and Kamil Lewandowski, FL Tax has 22 employees.

 

TEXAS

On February 6, the Houston Affiliate of the American Woman’s Society of CPAs hosted its 33rd Annual Seminar, headlined by a panel of the Houston Office managing partners of the Big Four accounting firms, who are, for the first time, all women: Anne Taylor of Deloitte, Niloufar Molavi of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deborah Byers of Ernst & Young, and Tandra Jackson of KPMG discussed their experiences in the accounting profession, as well as their diverse personal backgrounds.
