Meaden & Moore Merges with LBC International Investigative Accounting

Meaden & Moore has signed a strategic agreement with LBC International Investigative Accounting Inc., uniting Meaden & Moore’s Investigative Accounting Group and its 11 U.S. offices and 70-member staff with LBC’s four Canadian offices and 25-member staff.

The deal is expected to enhance both firms’ ability to service their shared clients. In addition to expanded geographic coverage, the firms will be able to increase their depth and level of expertise in various industry niches.

As part of the agreement, the Canadian firm will change its name to LBC Meaden & Moore International while the U.S. firm will remain Meaden & Moore. LBC is a global forensic accounting and litigation support consultancy with offices throughout Canada, including Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver, along with international offices in London and Paris. Meaden & Moore is an accounting, tax and business consulting firm with more than 200 people across the U.S., in cities such as Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles as well as an international office in London.

“The firms have worked together during the past two years through our U.K. partnership, and it became apparent we should be working much more closely in North America to better serve our clients,” said Meaden & Moore CEO James P. Carulas in a statement. “Our cultures, values and approach to client service could be leveraged to create a larger organization with the experience and resources to meet the demanding needs of our clients.”

Both firms provide forensic accounting and litigation support services to insurance providers, legal counsel and government agencies. They specialize in measuring the value of economic damages in legal disputes, insurance claims and business valuations.

“Expanding our forensic accounting and litigation support services to effectively meet the needs of our clients and staff while maintaining our commitment to quality and client service was an important goal for our organization,” said Philip Turner, partner in charge of LBC’s Toronto office. “Our collaboration with Meaden & Moore achieves this goal.”
