MHM Elects Burczyk President

Mayer Hoffman McCann has elected Andrew Burczyk as president. Burczyk, who has over 30 years of public accounting experience, has been a leader on the firm’s executive committee, as the midwest region attest practice leader and as a member of the professional standards group.

Burczyk succeeds Bill Hancock, who has served as president since 2002 and has 40 years of experience with the firm. Hancock, who is the CEO of the firm, will remain on board as chairman of the firm’s board of directors.

The members of this Board each bring strengths that will contribute to the future development and growth of Mayer Hoffman McCann in fulfilling our responsibilities to our clients and the public we serve,” stated Bill Hancock, chairman of MHM. “The Board is an accurate representation of our national footprint and our personnel, as well as the various markets and clients we serve.”

Jay Webber, who works in the firm’s Boston office, Linda Lauer in Memphis, Bruce Murphy in Tampa Bay and Laurie Hopkins in St. Louis are the recently elected members of the MHM Board. Each of these individuals is an experienced leader, and new board members also serve as attest practice leaders in their respective offices.

Webber, who has over 35 years of public accounting experience, has been with MHM since his prior firm joined MHM in 2009. In addition to serving as co-Attest Practice Leader for MHM’s New England offices, Webber is very active in his community and serves on the Board of several civic organizations.Lauer has been with MHM for four years since joining by acquisition in 2011, though she has over 25 years of industry experience, having worked at local and international accounting firms as well as Fortune 500 companies. She is a co-Attest Practice Leader in Memphis and also leads the office’s employee benefit plan audit practice. Outside of the office, Lauer also contributes her time to several committees and Boards.

Murphy’s 30 years of experience has been spent working with private and publicly held companies. He has been with MHM for five years since joining by acquisition in 2010. In addition to serving as Attest Practice Leader for the Tampa Bay office, Murphy is also the Finance Chair of a local nonprofit.

Hopkins, who serves as the Attest Practice Leader and employee benefit plan audit leader of the St. Louis office, has been with MHM since 2002 and brings with her more than 30 years of experience. Outside of her responsibilities at MHM, she also serves on several Boards in the St. Louis area.
