N.J. Society of CPAs Names New President-Elect

Walter J. Brasch of O’Connor Davies has been named president-elect of the New Jersey Society of CPAs, beginning his one-year term June 1, 2015.

Brasch is a partner and chief business development officer at O'Connor Davies, LLP in Cranford, N.J. He joined the NJSCPA in 1977 and has served as a trustee, treasurer and secretary. He is a member of the NJSCPA Finance, Strategic Planning, and Retirement Savings Plan committees and is an Education Foundation trustee. He has served on the Health Care, Litigation Services and Accounting & Auditing interest groups and was chair of the NJ-CPA-PAC. He has also served as president, vice president, secretary and director of the Monmouth/Ocean Chapter.

Brasch is a member of the American Institute of CPAs; the Health Care Financial Management Association; the New York State Society of CPAs, where he serves on the Large/Medium-Size Firms Committee; board member of the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce; and an associate member of the N.J. Bankers Association.

In his community, Brasch served as board chair and treasurer of the Raritan Bay Medical Center, alumni association president of Christian Brothers Academy, board member and committee chair of the American Cancer Society and board member and treasurer of the Boy Scouts of America, Monmouth Council. He is the recipient of the CBA Alumnus of the Year Award and currently serves on the board of trustees of CBA.

He also serves as an associate member of the Audit Committee of Monmouth University and a fundraising committee member for the Raritan Bay Healthcare Foundation.

Brasch earned his B.B.A. in accounting from St. Bonaventure University. He and his wife, Ann, have a son, a daughter and three grandchildren.
