GEORGIA

Mark Trivette and Paras Motiram have joined Alvarez & Marsal Taxand LLC, Atlanta, as a managing director and a senior director respectively.

ILLINOIS

Joseph Chivini has joined UHY Advisors, Chicago, as director of business development.

 

MICHIGAN

Andrew Rose, a tax principal at Rehmann, Lansing, has earned the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional certification. … Laurie Horvath, a partner at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP, Southfield, has been named to the Michigan Association of CPAs’ Board of Directors for a three-year term.

 

MINNESOTA

Jeffrey Gendreau, a partner in the Minneapolis office of Baker Tilley Virchow Krause LLP, was inducted into the University of North Dakota’s Accounting Hall of Fame, while partner Timothy Kosiek was recognized by the Minnesota Society of CPAs for nearly a decade of service to Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.

 

NEW HAMPSHIRE

Cynthia A. Hetu has joined Nathan Wechsler & Co. PA, Concord, as a tax associate.

NEW YORK

Gary S. Kaminsky has joined BDO Consulting, New York, as managing director in the financial services advisory practice and head of regulatory compliance, asset management and broker-dealers. … The American Institute of CPAs announced the 2016 AICPA Leadership Academy graduating class. (See the story.) … Joe Gill has joined Andersen Tax as a managing director in the U.S. National Tax Office. OREGON

PENNSYLVANIA

WeiserMazars LLP announced a number of promotions in the Fort Washington office: Marissa Lieb and Edward Westenberger have been promoted to senior manager; Brett Pulsfort was promoted to manager; and George Bonnewell, Samantha Grismore and Carolyn Zapata were promoted to seniors.

TEXAS

UNITED KINGDOM

Sue Lloyd has been appointed vice chair of the International Accounting Standards Board. (See the story.) 
… Paul Ginman, previously the chief operating officer and technical director at Baker Tilly International, has become chief quality officer. Ben Lloyd will succeed him as COO.

 

VIRGINIA

The Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation named new officers and directors to its 2016-17 Board of Directors: Virginia Bruns will serve as president; Carla Rich will serve as vice president/educator; and Cynthia Hunt and Brian Thompson were installed as directors.
