Former Intuit exec Jim McGinnis joins Wolters Kluwer

Former Intuit executive Jim McGinnis has been snagged by Wolters Kluwer, which has hired him as its new executive president and general manager for the medium and large segment for its Tax & Accounting North America business unit.

McGinnis was at Intuit for seven years, originally as vice president of marketing for the Accountants Professional Division, and later as vice president of the accounting segment for the company. During that time, he was named one of Accounting Today’s Most Influential People in Accounting several times.

McGinnis left Intuit in March, and then spent some time consulting for the accountant team at TSheets.

McGinnis will be put in charge of the strategy for the business across sales, marketing, customer services and product management for his segment. He is also tasked with overseeing the customer experience for this segment’s software products, growing market share and the expansion of new products and platforms.

“Jim is an experienced and dynamic software executive who brings operational excellence, significant leadership experience and a proven track record to Wolters Kluwer,” said Jason Marx, CEO of Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting North America, in a statement. “We are excited to welcome him to the business, given his deep domain expertise in professional accounting software and shared focus on innovation and the customer experience.”
