IMA presents awards to management accountants

The Institute of Management Accountants handed out a series of awards during its annual conference this week in Indianapolis.

The Exemplary Young Professional award went to Derek Fuzzell, vice president of finance at Northwest Federal Credit Union. The award recognizes an IMA young professional with outstanding and creative approaches to problem solving within the accounting and finance profession

The award for Exemplary Board Member went to Tony Caspio, vice president of supply chain global equipment at Sealed Air Corporation. The award recognizes a member of the IMA Global Board who exemplifies excellence as a board member, through preparation, participation and service.

The IMA Champion award was presented to Cinda S. Mijal from Heart of Wisconsin, Mike Pu of China Education, and Paul Myers from Dayton. The award recognizes an IMA member who has shown volunteer and leadership skills above and beyond what might be expected, serving as an example of volunteerism for others to follow.

The IMA Lifetime Achievement award recognizes an IMA member who has demonstrated sustainable, extraordinary leadership and dedication to IMA over a lifetime of service. This year, it went to Bud Kulesza, the former CFO of ITT Automotive.

The Bulloch Award, for an organization that has demonstrated outstanding sponsorship and support of the CMA program, was presented to Philips.

The Board of Regents Recognition Award, for demonstrating outstanding support of the CMA program, went to Brigham Young University.

For the CMA Examination Awards, there were three silver medalists — Kirk Paul Solon Sarmiento, Macid Merey, and Carla Vanessa Santiago Legaspi — while the bronze medalist was Alissa Ryan.

For the January‐February 2017 testing window, the recipient of the Certificate of Distinguished Performance was Sandra Frazier Fornea.

For the January‐February 2017 testing window, the Student Certificate of Distinguished Performance went to Eunice Ann Lazaro Libaton

For the May‐June 2017 testing window, the recipient of the Certificate of Distinguished Performance was Erin Blue.

For the Priscilla S. Payne Outstanding Student Performance award to a college or university student who has achieved the top score in his or her exam group, the award for the January‐February 2017 testing window went to Harry Ramasubramanian, while the award for the September‐October 2017 testing window was presented to Erika Joy Martinez Legaspi.
