Intuit Announces QBO Partnership with BDO

Intuit announced a new strategic alliance with accounting and consulting firm BDO USA for the firm to use QuickBooks Online as a technology partner, providing online accounting services to its small business clients.

BDO is expected to launch a new cloud business management solution for clients later this fall, and as part of its small business component, BDO will partner with QuickBooks to offer clients online tools and processes for their accounting.

The partnership, which will include preferred, integrated QB apps like TSheets, Expensify and Qvinci, was announced by Luis Sanchez, director of small business segment accountant marketing, at Scaling New Heights 2016.

“Like us, BDO is focused on helping small businesses adopt today’s online technologies and streamline processes to fuel their success,” said Jim McGinnis, vice president and leader of Intuit’s Accountant Segment, in a statement. “We look forward to working with BDO to move their small business clients online and help build their planned online accounting platform offering.”

“Small businesses are already very familiar with QuickBooks and that made QuickBooks Online the clear choice for us to use with our emerging clients,” stated Kelly Johnson, partner and national practice leader for business services and outsourcing at BDO USA. “We look forward to working with the Intuit team in converting thousands of our existing clients to QuickBooks Online and providing clients with an enhanced experience in accessing and leveraging their financial data.”

Intuit made a few other announcements at Scaling New Heights, including a partnership with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers USA to offer Advanced Certification and a 50 percent off discount to ProAdvisors. Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors can join the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers with the exclusive benefits of receiving credit for their QB certifications and 50 percent off of their ICB membership and ICB exam fees.

Additionally, Intuit announced a global expansion of its Firm of the Future contest to reward the world’s top 20 accounting firms in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom, in addition to the U.S. Information about the global search can be found here, and the grand prize winner will be announced at QuickBooks Connect 2016.
