IRS Lists Forms for Late February Filing

The IRS has posted a list of 30 additional tax forms that 1040 filers can begin filing in late February or into March.

The forms will be accepted by the IRS after the updating of forms and completion of programming and testing of the service’s processing systems. A specific date for filing will be announced soon, the service noted.

The forms range from the 3800 (General Business Credit) and 4136 (Credit for Federal Tax Paid on Fuels) to the 8932 (Credit for Employer Differential Wage Payments) and 8936 (Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit).

The IRS said earlier this week that it plans to open the 2013 tax filing season and begin processing individual income tax returns on Wednesday, January 30, more than a week after the initially planned start date of January 22 (see Tax Season Delayed Until the End of January). Some returns cannot be processed until late February or March.
