KPMG announces 2017 'Master of Accounting with Data and Analytics' program

KPMG announced on Tuesday that the application period for its second KPMG Master of Accounting with Data and Analytics program is now open.

Via a partnership with The Ohio State University's Max M. Fisher College of Business and Villanova's School of Business, 51 students enrolled in the inaugural class last year, under the program's mission statement of "develop[ing] accountants in the data age." The program looks to couple a D&A curriculum with KPMG's analytics technology and real-world application with clients.

“New technologies must be matched with people who know how to use them effectively,” said Roger O’Donnell, KPMG’s global data and analytics lead for Audit, per a statement. “We have a critical need for talented people with a thirst for continuous learning who can cope with massive amounts of change. We’re investing heavily to change how we attract, train, and deploy students to have an immediate and lasting impact on our business.”

KPMG will once again pay the tuition, room, and board for the selected applicants, who must also be accepted students at either of the program's schools. Students will also work as spring interns on KPMG audit teams and be able to join the firm's Audit practice via an advanced-entry program upon completion. KPMG hopes to expand the program to more schools beginning fall 2018.
