Lionel B. Sanders Merges with Gumbiner Savett Inc.

Lionel B. Sanders CPA has merged with the Santa Monica, Calif-based accounting firm Gumbiner Savett Inc.

Lionel Sanders has agreed to join Gumbiner as a principal. He has more than 40 years of experience as an accounting professional and specializes in consulting and advisory services in the visual arts community, where he’s worked with fine artists, individual collectors and galleries.

During his career, Sanders provided taxation, financial and business management services to a number of professionals focused on the fine arts, including Jean Robert Millant, owner and founder of the Cirrus Gallery and Cirrus Editions Ltd. in downtown Los Angeles; and artist Vasa Mihich, an internationally recognized sculptor and painter.

“I’m thrilled to announce the integration of my practice with Gumbiner Savett,” said Sanders. “Gumbiner Savett’s breadth of resources with over 64 years of providing accounting and business advisory services, along with my 40 years of experience, better positions us to serve the expanding and complex needs for a wide range of professionals.”

In addition to Sanders’ specialty in visual arts, his expertise includes a broad range of practice areas, such as estate taxes, trusts, real estate, nonprofits, law firms, health care, retail, wholesale distribution, entertainment, technology and manufacturing. Prior to establishing his own firm, Sanders worked at SKMC LLP as a partner. He also worked at Sanders, Carter & Co. LLP and Brout & Company, CPAs.

Sanders received his bachelor’s degree in business and accounting from California State University, Northridge. His professional memberships include the American Institute of CPAs and the California Society of CPAs. Additional affiliations include serving as a group leader associate for ProVisors, a professional network group, and co-trustee for a nonprofit organization advocating for the humane treatment of animals.
