Mentor Plus releases client services training course for CPAs

Mentor Plus, a Carmel Valley, California-based organization that teaches public accountants to deliver proactive services, has launched its Online Level 5 Certified Advisor (L5CA) training. The online course collects CEO Edi Osborne’s 20 years of live training material and instruction in one place.

L5CA consists of more than 100 resources, including recorded videos, downloadable tools and hands-on tutorials, forming a single repeatable protocol for accountants looking to build or expand a consulting practice.

The online training course covers three elements that Mentor Plus builds its philosophy around: mindset, skillset and toolset. Throughout the training, students are taught to ask different questions to uncover opportunities for helping their clients in all aspects of their business.

Level 1 covers getting the basics right; level 2 covers “speaking the language of business”; level 3 maps the plan from current results to desired outcomes; level 4 covers associating measures with activities; and level 5 talks about continuous improvement.

“As I have traveled around the country, I have met accountants who recognized an urgent need to be more proactive about helping clients with their business issues,” Osborne said in a statement. “The profession is heading in a new direction and the Mentor Plus Level 5 Certified Advisor online training is the way to get CPAs there. We are on a mission to eliminate random acts of consulting.”

The course offers a full refund opportunity after the first two levels if the CPA student is not satisfied.
