CALIFORNIA

SingerLewak LLP is combining its litigation and forensic accounting practice with Biggs & Co., a Southern California firm that provides specialized services in bankruptcy, litigation support, and forensic accounting. The new combination will take on the name SLBiggs, a division of SingerLewak.

Jim Pitrat, managing partner for SingerLewak will continue leading the combined firm in this capacity.

SLBiggs, a division of SingerLewak will be located in the current SingerLewak West Los Angeles office at 10960 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 700, Los Angeles, CA 90024.

NEW YORK

Gray & Gray Certified Public Accountants, PC of Canton and Hoffman & Eells, CPAs PC based in Malone and with offices in Canton, Massena, Lake Placid and Plattsburgh, have agreed to merge. The new firm will take on the name Hoffman Eells & Gray CPAs PC. …

Kane, Bowles & Moore, PC, a Liverpool-based accounting and consulting firm, will merge with Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC, one of the largest locally owned and independent certified public accounting firms in Central New York. The deal is expected to close on Jan. 1, 2015. Kane, Bowles & Moore will operate under the Dermody, Burke & Brown name.

The combination of these two firms will enhance client service capabilities by providing additional resources and expanded services. Dermody, Burke & Brown and Kane, Bowles & Moore share a similar foundation and commitment to the clients and community they serve.

OKLAHOMA

Tulsa-based accounting firm HoganTaylor has agreed to merge with Hartog, Kallenberger & Swarthout LLC. The deal is expected to close in the early part of 2015. At that time HKS will begin doing business as HoganTaylor.

As early as December, HKS employees may begin moving into HoganTaylor's offices in Utica Place. HoganTaylor has nearly 200 employees and offices in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Fayetteville, Arkansas. Adding HKS will help broaden the firm's expertise in the construction industry.

OREGON

Lindquist LLP will join forces with Richard A. Sutton, a certified public accounting practice based in Portland, Oregon. The firms have combined to bring service to the Pacific Northwest payroll audit arena, including Alaska. Quality has always been a priority, as both Lindquist LLP and Sutton have in-depth experience in payroll auditing and procedures.

Over the past 28 years, Sutton has developed a thriving practice in the Pacific Northwest, focused on Taft-Hartley fund employer reporting compliance. Sutton additionally works with insurance professionals in the analysis of insurance claims.

WASHINGTON, D.C.

CohnReznick LLP has completed the combination of Watkins Meegan LLC. This brings added bench strength to both firms, bolsters CohnReznick’s position as a leading firm in the Washington-Metro area, and allows for the geographic expansion of Watkins Meegan’s Government Contractors Practice. With the combination, CohnReznick estimates Firm-wide 2014 revenues of $575MM.
