Mid-Atlantic firm is first Silver Tier partner for Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE

Global Tax Management, a tax-services firm based in Philadelphia, has joined the Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Certified Implementer Program as the first Silver Tier CIP Firm.

Thomson Reuters recently applied a tiered structure to the Certified Implementer Program to formalize it for ONESOURCE, the company’s corporate tax software offering. All CIP firms must meet the same standards required to participate in the program; the tiers indicate the volume and scale of ONESOURCE implementation activity. Gold-tier firms have to offer at least one ONESOURCE product suite and process a high volume of implementations, while silver-tier firms are certified on at least one ONESOURCE product suite.

GTM’s expertise is in tax technology implementation, process automation and data management. Through CIP, Thomson Reuters will provide GTM with dedicated training, certification and technical support for its ONESOURCE Direct Tax suite, which includes Income Tax, Tax Provision, DataFlow, and Workflow Manager modules, along with other suite applications such as General Ledger Manager, Uncertain Tax Positions, and State Apportionment.

GTM was an early adopter of ONESOURCE and has offered it since the firm was founded more than a decade ago. Ryan Lynch, managing director of GTM's Tax Automation Services practice, started his career as one of the first employees of TaxStream, LLC, whose tax software platform was acquired by Thomson Reuters and became the foundation of ONESOURCE. Lynch’s roles at both TaxStream and then Thomson Reuters included serving as head of customer support and later in the product management area of the business.

“Companies expect great efficiencies from their tax departments, whose calculations are subject to significant complexity and continuous changes, like those resulting from U.S. tax reform,” said Lynch in a statement. “Software automation via the ONESOURCE platform, and a clear strategy around the process, is key to ensuring tax calculations and data are managed accurately, while allowing for quick analysis and adjustments as necessary. GTM is pleased to expand our existing relationship with Thomson Reuters to provide our clients with access to a host of ONESOURCE solutions that directly address specific corporate tax needs.”
