New accountant directory offers signup incentives

ClientWhys, which provides marketing automation software as well as website building and branding services for accountants, has created a small business accounting marketplace called CountingWorks. It's free to be listed, and for a limited time, accounting professionals who want a premium listing can get one for a discounted rate.

CountingWorks is a resource for small businesses around the United States to find information, guidance and services from a network of more than 240,000 accountants, CPAs, bookkeepers, virtual CFOs and other accounting professionals.

ClientWhys already has a tax-focused marketplace, TaxBuzz, which launched in 2014. TaxBuzz matches taxpayers to independent tax professionals.

Both marketplaces use ClientWhys’ proprietary MatchMe system, an algorithm that helps find the right accountant match for clients. Small businesses visit the CountingWorks.com site and provide information on their business and its needs. MatchMe matches them with professionals based on geography, services needed, industry niches and other factors.

Small businesses can opt out of MatchMe and search the CountingWorks.com site on their own. They can review features like verified client reviews, CountingWorks Verified badges (which indicate successful completion of a background check), blog articles by the professionals, and links to the professionals’ websites.

Both CountingWorks and TaxBuzz have blogs featuring tax and accounting resources and articles written by member professionals and industry experts.

“Despite of all the hype we hear about robots, our research shows that most small business owners still prefer the personalized service provided by trusted accounting professionals,” said Lee Reams II, CEO of ClientWhys, in a statement. “Our new CountingWorks marketplace makes it very easy for small businesses to get matched with highly rated accounting professionals.”

Accounting professionals who wish to be added to the CountingWorks network can visit https://www.countingworks.com/list-business.

It is free for professionals to claim their profile, add their photo, services and links to their website and social media, and obtain reviews from their clients. Additional CountingWorks Pro paid annual memberships provide benefits including premium profiles on both TaxBuzz and CountingWorks, more opportunities to receive inquiries via MatchMe connections, as well as other CountingWorks Pro marketing automation services such as email newsletters, social media marketing, secure client portals and more.

Through Aug. 31, 2018, accounting and tax professionals can get both CountingWorks Pro and TaxBuzz Pro annual marketplace memberships starting at $299 per year (normally $598 per year).
