NJCPA accepting 'New Volunteer Award' applicants

The New Jersey Society of CPAs announced this week that it is now accepting nominations for its New Volunteer Award, which looks to highlight members of the organization who have shown "outstanding volunteer work" for the Society or a local charity.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization," stated Ralph Albert Thomas, CEO and executive director at NJCPA. "They are the people that donate their time, expertise and commitment to others without looking for anything in return.”

Both CPAs and non-CPAs, along with members of academia, are asked to apply or submit a nomination. Applicants may nominate themselves or multiple individuals, with all staff levels encouraged to apply. Nominees must be members of the NJCPA for at least a year and are asked to exemplify the mission statements of the Society, including: "Provide member community; support education; encourage high professional standards; and advocate for the CPA and public interests."

Nominees are asked to have performed their service from 2017-18, but activities in recent years or ones on an ongoing basis will also be accepted.
