NJCPA announces 2017 Diversity & Inclusion Impact class

The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants announced this week the 27 recipients of their 2017 Diversity & Inclusion Impact awards. The winners were honored at the Society's Annual Convention and Expo at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City this month.

Honored individuals represent professionals who are "diverse or who champion diversity in the hiring, retention and promotion of CPAs and in the elevation of accountants to leadership positions," per the Society's site. Nominees must also work at a firm or business with at least one NJCPA member.

To be nominated for the award, individuals are asked to show excellence in at least two of the following areas, according to the NJCPA:

  • Influences Others
  • Serves as a Role Model
  • Cultivates a Diverse Team
  • Innovates and Takes Risks
  • Accountability
  • External Leadership Development.

This year's honorees will also be featured in the September/October issue of New Jersey CPA magazine.
