NJCPA awards over $400K in 2017 student scholarships

The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) recently announced that they will award $410,000 in scholarships to over 80 students across the state for the society's 2017 scholarship program.

The awards are part of the NJCPA Scholarship Fund, a member and firm-funded group that has gone on to donate over $4 million in scholarships since its inception sixty years ago.

Scholarships are awarded to three groups of students: High school seniors going on to major in accounting, college juniors majoring in accounting, and college seniors entering an accounting graduate program.

"We are excited to see so many promising students who could potentially enter the accounting profession," said Ralph Albert Thomas, CEO and executive director of the NJCPA, per a statement. "The NJCPA is proud to be part of a program that makes the road to college education easier through the generous donations of our members."

The 57th Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony will be held Tuesday, April 25 in Edison, NJ, wherein the recipients will also meet with local CPAs and heads of statewide accounting firms.
