The Foundation will award scholarships to deserving U.S. or Canadian accounting undergrads majoring in accounting at an accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States. Since its inception in 1969, the NSA Scholarship Foundation has gone on to award over $1 million to students pursuing an accounting career. In 2016 alone, the Foundation awarded $35,300 to 32 candidates.
Successful applicants will be determined by scholastic achievement (with a minimum “B,” or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, GPA), demonstrated leadership ability, and a financial need. Scholarships typically range from $500 - $2,500 per student.
“Filling accounting positions with promising students is the most important thing we can do to advance this critical profession,” stated NSA Scholarship Foundation chair Sharon Cook. “We also know the cost of higher education continues to rise and hope these scholarships will make it easier for some students to achieve their goals.”
2017 scholarship applications are due no later than April 3, 2017. For more information or to apply, head to the NSA's site here.
