Rachel Ehrlich has been appointed vice president and chief claims officer at Camico, San Mateo. … Navineet Singh Sethi joins the Financial Services Office of Ernst & Young’s San Francisco’s financial services office as a tax as a partner. He was most recently a partner at Rothstein Kass where he worked since 2005. Earlier in his career, Navin was a manager at Ireland San Filippo and a senior at Deloitte & Touche.  

FLORIDA

Frank Gonzalez was promoted to principal-in-charge of Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra LLC’s audit department. Alexander Binelo was promoted to a principal in the firm’s audit department, and Ileana Salort-Horta is now a director in the audit department.

GEORGIA

Meredith Barfield has joined Hancock Askew & Co. LLP, Savannah, as a staff accountant in the tax department. Barfield graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga. in 2010 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and in 2011 with a Master of Accounting. Barfield earned the title of Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia in 2013.

ILLINOIS

David Yaros joined Ernst & Young’s Chicago office as a principal in its Business Tax Services department. Yaros previously worked at Deloitte in the tax department where he spent 12 years, and became a leader for R&D tax credits and other government incentives.

MICHIGAN

Rob Dutkiewicz, shareholder of International Accounting Services at Clayton & McKervey PC has joined the board of directors of the British American Business Council of Michigan.

MISSOURI

Bryan Graiff has joined Brown Smith Wallace, St. Louis, as a principal in the firm’s financial advisory services practice, a leading provider of valuation, dispute advisory and corporate finance services.  

NEW JERSEY

Patrick Schlagel has joined the staff of Hill, Barth & King LLC in its Lawrenceville office.

NEW YORK

Arthur Rosen, a partner with McDermott Will & Emery LLP, will assume the chair of Bloomberg BNA’s State Tax Advisory Board. Paul Frankel of Morrison & Foerster will step down as chairman and continue to serve as a member of the advisory board as chairman emeritus. … Craig Lynch has relocated to New York from Australia, joining Ernst & Young’s national tax group as a principal in its Human Capital’s Mobility Services. Lynch began his career as a consultant at Arthur Anderson. Steve Fattman joins EY’s National Tax as an executive director in the Transaction Tax practice. Steve served as Special Counsel to the Associate Chief Counsel (Corporate) in the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, and in other capacities in the Corporate division for the last fifteen years. Prior to that, he was in the private practice of law. Gino Dossche joined EY National Tax as an executive director in the Indirect Tax / VAT practice in New York. Most recently, Gino was a senior manager at Deloitte Tax LLP where he led numerous international VAT/GST engagements across many sectors, with particular experience around M&A transactions. He began his career at Arthur Anderson. Douglas Short returns to EY Tax as an executive director in the Human Capital practice focused on actuarial work for the Talent & Reward area in Dallas. Short rejoins EY after spending 16 years at Buck Consultants where he was a principal. Previously, he was a consultant at Watson Wyatt.

NORTH CAROLINA

Melinda Hancock will join Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP, Charlotte, as a partner in its national healthcare practice, DHG Healthcare. Hancock previously was the senior vice president and CFO of the Virginia region of Bon Secours Health System.

TEXAS

Wally Gruenes has been named office managing partner at Grant Thornton LLP Dallas practice. Gruenes previously served multiple roles as the national managing partner for all industries, the national managing partner for the Consumer and Industrial Products practice, and the Manufacturing practice leader. Gruenes will succeed Ed O’Brien, who has served as the Dallas office managing partner since January 2009 and will continue to serve as the Central region managing partner. Skip Westfall has joined the firm as leader of the firm’s Forensic Technology Services, within the Forensic and Valuation Services practice. He is a managing director based in the Houston office.… Gayla Thornton, a principal at Armstrong, Backus & Co. LLP, has become the newest partner at the San Angelo-based firm. … Michael Sobczyk and Luke Childress have been named partners at Holtzman Partners in the Austin office. Childress will serve as a partner in audit and advisory services and Sobczyk will serve as a partner in IT risk evaluation.
