FLORIDA
Sheri Fiske Schultz, a director of business valuation services at Fiske & Company, will present at the Florida Institute of CPAs Valuation and Litigation Conference on Jan. 9, 2014. Her seminar titled “Testimony Skills: Trial Preparation and Communication” covers best practices for an expert witness to prepare for deposition, trial, and cross examination.

Jerald Miles has joined Louis T. Roth & Co. as an advanced staff accountant. Prior to Louis T. Roth, Miles worked as an internal auditor for the Kentucky State Fair Board. Erin Wilkins joined the firm as an executive office manger. Prior to joining the firm Wilkins worked as a human resources coordinator at a local accounting firm.

Arthur Flach, a tax services partner and partner-in-charge of Grant Thornton LLP’s Baltimore office, has been appointed to the State of Maryland Board of Public Accountancy for a three-year term.

Eric Hansen, who is the COO of BKD LLP, has been appointed to a three-year term on the AICPA Board of Directors. Kimberly McKay, a partner and the North Region industry leader for BKD National Health Care group, was appointed vice chair of the AICPA Health Care Expert Panel. Mike Wolfe, a partner in the firm's National Office Accounting & Auditing Department, was appointed to the AICPA governmental Audit Quality Center Executive Committee. Debbie Warden has joined Stone Carlie, Clayton, as a manager in the tax and business services department. Prior to joining Stone Carlie, Warden worked as a tax manager for State & Local Tax Reporting at Mallinckrodt. She has also held tax positions at CliftonLarsonAllen, Deloitte and Ernst & Young and has served as a member of the Council on State Taxation.

Jeffrey Wheeler, an audit principal at New England-based Baker Newman Noyes, was recently awarded the “Director of the Year” award at the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Boys and Girls Club of Manchester.

Jeffery Gluck has been promoted to senior managing director at the New York office of CBIZ MHM. Carolyn Linkov, a principal at ParenteBeard, has been appointed director of strategic tax applications and techniques. Linkov will teach the tax team and keep them informed on STAT-related issues, serve as technical reviewer for STAT projects and provide guidance to the firm’s tax team on customized tax consulting ideas for clients.
