Gerd Franke, William Dickinson and Michael DeLuca MBA have been accepted by the Internal Revenue Service as Certifying Acceptance Agents. Franke, a principal and Dickinson, a manager, works in the Naples office, while DeLuca works predominantly out of the Fort Myers office of the firm as a manager. … Bibi Sipra, a tax intern at CBIZ MHM in Tampa Bay, is currently pursuing a Bachelors in Accounting and Management degree and is expected to graduate in August 2014. OHIO

Meg Smith has joined BCG Systems Inc. as an IT Systems intern where she’ll be responsible for server backups and IT help desk support. Smith is currently attending The University of Akron where she is working toward a degree in computer information system and Cisco Networking. … Jonas Russell has been promoted to senior accountant in Decosimo’s Cincinnati office.

TENNESSEE

Decosimo has made several promotions throughout the firm. In its Chattanooga office, Shelton Swafford Chambers and Sarah Denton were moved up to tax managers and Kimberly Johnson was promoted to senior accountant. Matt Wallace was promoted to senior accountant in the firm’s Nashville office and Lauren Moore is now a senior accountant in the firm’s Memphis office.

Hanh Duong and Daniel Travis were promoted to tax senior managers at Pannell Kerr Forster of Texas in the Houston office.

VIRGINIA

Margueritte Britton and Ed Cole, two veteran international tax strategists have joined the international tax team at Piascik’s Richmond-based firm. Britton, who joined the firm as an expatriate tax manager and Cole, who joins as an international senior tax manager will be responsible for helping the firm’s international tax partner-in-charge, Ryan Losi, to lead both the corporate cross-border and individual expatriate tax practices.

WASHINGTON D.C.

The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation, responsible for the governance and oversight of the International Accounting Standards Board has reappointed Amaro Gomes (South America) and Pat Finnegan (North America) to serve second five-year terms as members of the IASB. Gomes is a former senior official of the Central Bank of Brazil, while Finnegan previously served as Director of the Financial Reporting Policy Group at the CFA Institute Center for Financial Market Integrity. … Michael Maloney has been named the new chief accountant in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement. Maloney joins the SEC enforcement staff from Navigant Consulting Inc., where he is a managing director and oversees the firm’s forensic accounting practice. He has led teams conducting complex forensic investigations in high-profile accounting, securities, and other fraud matters. Maloney has more than 25 years of experience advising on financial accounting and reporting, including GAAP, GAAS, and SEC filings. He is a certified public accountant and certified fraud examiner, and he holds a certification in financial forensics.
