GEORGIA

Michael Hostinsky has joined Windham Brannon as a senior manager. Hostinsky has more than 12 years of professional experience in audit and compliance, risk management, and business consulting. His service capabilities include leading and delivering Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal control reviews and audits, internal audit co-sourcing engagements, risk assessments, SOC (formerly SAS 70) audit examinations, business process improvement projects, and cost reduction initiatives. His previously worked for Teavana Corporation, a subsidiary of Starbucks Corporation; Grant Thornton LLP; and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting. … Ben Glass moved up to senior accountant at Draffin & Tucker LLP in the firm’s Albany office. INDIANA

Mike Bedel, a partner and director of Audit & Assurance Services at Sponsel CPA Group, has been elected chairman of the Indiana CPA-Political Action Committee. Bedel served on the Indiana CPA Society Leadership Cabinet for two years, and has been a Trustee of the PAC since January 2012. A native of Louisville, Ky., he received bachelor’s and MBA degrees from the University of Dayton. Bedel’s two-year term as Chairman will last through Dec. 31, 2015.

MICHIGAN

Timothy Adams has been named a member of the Maner Costerisan’s Board of Directors. Adams joined Maner Costerisan in 1999 after the firm merged with his former firm, Henderson, Miller & Robbins PC. He currently serves as a principal of the firm and is head of the tax department.

Ph.D. economist and financial professional Nancy Voth has joined WTP Advisors as a director in the firm’s Minneapolis office.

UNITED KINGDOM

The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation, responsible for the governance and oversight of the International Accounting Standards Board, which is based in the United Kingdom, recently reappointment Amaro Gomes of South America, and Pat Finnegan of North America, to serve second five-year terms as members of the IASB. Gomes is a former senior official of the Central Bank of Brazil, while Finnegan previously served as Director of the Financial Reporting Policy Group at the CFA Institute Center for Financial Market Integrity.

WASHINGTON

David Fredrickson has been named associate director and chief counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance. He is expected to assume his new position this month. Fredrickson has been assistant general counsel in the SEC’s Office of General Counsel since 1998, where he is responsible for providing legal and policy advice to the Division of Corporation Finance. During his tenure, he has advised the division and the Commission on implementation of numerous rulemakings, including rules to implement the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, and the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act. In his new role, Fredrickson will oversee the work of the division’s Office of Chief Counsel and Office of Capital Markets Trends. Elizabeth Murphy has also been named an associate director in Corporation Finance Division of the SEC. For the past five years, Murphy has served as the Secretary of the Commission, heading the office that prepares, reviews, and maintains records of Commission action and advises the Commission and the SEC staff on administrative practices and procedures. From 2000 to 2009, she was the chief of the Division of Corporation Finance’s Office of Rulemaking, which plays a leading role in rulemaking projects undertaken by the division.
