Formerly, Phillips was the Director of the School of Accountancy at Louisiana Tech University where he also served as the KPMG Endowed Professor. Brook Harvey was named the President Elect. The AICPA has awarded five students who are transitioning from community colleges to four-year universities with the inaugural AICPA Foundation Two Year Transfer Scholarship. These students have earned an associate’s degree in business, accounting, finance or economics with a declared intent to major in accounting at a four-year college or university and will receive $1,000 towards their tuition for the 2014-2015 school year. The awards are funded by the AICPA Foundation. The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation, responsible for the governance and oversight of the International Accounting Standards Board, appointed fifteen new members of the IFRS Advisory Council. The Advisory Council is the formal advisory body to the Trustees and the IASB. It advises the IFRS Foundation on its strategic direction, technical work plan and priorities.
