The AICPA presented Scott Jackson, Timothy Keune and Leigh Salzsieder with the Greatest Potential Impact on Management Accounting Practice Award. The Institute also presented Michael Maher with the 2015 Lifetime Contribution Award. … Sam Bachstein was admitted into the partnership at Holthouse Carlin & Van Trigt LLP.

COLORADO

CONNECTICUT

The Connecticut Society of CPAs announced its 2014 “New and Young Professionals to Watch,” a select group of three up-and-comers, aged 35 and younger, who have set themselves apart as emerging leaders in the accounting profession. New and Young Professionals include; J. Tobias Freeman, a manager in CohnReznick’s Hartford office, Katherine McNair, an audit supervisor in O’Connor Davies Wethersfield office, and Evan Kalish, a tax senior at Saslow Lufkin & Buggy's Simsbury office.

FLORIDA

Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund has made several promotions throughout the firm. Whitney Bruner and Lori Gambill were promoted to seniors in the Financial Institutions Services Department. Stephen MacBeth and Rob Wilson were promoted to managers in the Financial Institutions Advisory Group. MARYLAND

The Board of Directors of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. has appointed Lauren Yost as chief operating officer. With over 20 years of leadership and hands-on management experience in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, Yost has successfully leveraged her expertise in operations, finance, and strategic planning to lead big picture visions, balanced with efficiency and practicality. Yost joins NABA from the National Recreation and Park Association where she served in a similar capacity as the vice president of operations and chief administration and strategy officer. During her nearly 10-year term at NRPA, Yost had responsibilities for strategic planning, human resources, information technology, conferences and exposition, sales, marketing, communications and magazine publication.
