The Board of Directors of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. has appointed Lauren Yost as chief operating officer. With over 20 years of leadership and hands-on management experience in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, Yost has successfully leveraged her expertise in operations, finance, and strategic planning to lead big picture visions, balanced with efficiency and practicality. Yost joins NABA from the National Recreation and Park Association where she served in a similar capacity as the vice president of operations and chief administration and strategy officer. During her nearly 10-year term at NRPA, Yost had responsibilities for strategic planning, human resources, information technology, conferences and exposition, sales, marketing, communications and magazine publication.

HB&P began its nonprofit symposia series in 2002 to educate nonprofit board members, CFOs, and Executive Directors on updates in the accounting world as well as other hot industry topics. Now the most heavily and widely-attended firm event, the symposia joins nonprofit organizations with industry experts who present on current issues and trends that affect the community and aim to benefit the growth and prosperity of nonprofit organizations. The event is held twice a year in both Alexandria, VA and Baltimore, MD and represents upward of 180 nonprofits in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Registration for the spring symposia will open in early February.
