CalCPA has presented Patricia Cochran, CPA, with its Distinguished Service Award. Cochran served as president of the CalCPA Education Foundation from 2007 to 2008. In 2009, she retired as chief financial officer of Vision Service Plan, Rancho Cordova.

Jared Duncan has been promoted to senior staff accountant in the tax services department by Sponsel CPA Group.

LONDON

Roderick Winters was honored with the Victor Z. Brink Award for Distinguished Service during the Institute of Internal Auditors 73rd International Conference in London. Andrew Chambers picked up the Bradford Cadmus Memorial Award for his contributions to the global profession. Chambers is a recognized authority on corporate governance and is founder and general editor of the peer-reviewed journal, Blackwell’s International Journal of Auditing.

MARYLAND

Grants Management Systems Inc., a provider of nonprofit accounting and financial management/reporting and revolving loan servicing software, has appointed Deann Hasbrouck to the company’s board of directors. Before joining GMS, Hasbrouck was the fiscal officer at Headwaters Regional Development Commission in Bemidji, MN where she used the GMS Nonprofit Accounting and Financial Management/Reporting System for over 4-years. … Eddie Heppes, a member at the regional CPA and advisory firm DeLeon & Stang, has earned his license as a CPA. Heppes became a DeLeon & Stang team member in 2009 and specializes in audit and employee benefit services for nonprofits as well as commercial industries. He graduated from the University of Maryland and Robert H. Smith School of Business, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. … Lydia Samonds has joined the HeimLantz team. Samonds earned a Certificate in Financial Accounting from Anne Arundel Community College, having previously studied at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.

Todd Eldredge was admitted as an assurance partner in the firm’s Greensboro office. Dominic Henriques was admitted as an assurance partner in PwC's financial services risk assurance practice in Charlotte and Jim Holloway was admitted as an advisory principal.
