Chris Murphy has joined the financial software company BlackLine Systems. Prior to BlackLine, Murphy was a senior vice president at Financial Solutions at SaaS applications and ERP leader Infor, as the company’s first chief revenue officer. Murphy, a SaaS and ERP industry veteran, will now be responsible for BlackLine’s revenue strategy, with an initial emphasis on sales and sales operations and growing the company’s global partner network as it continues to expand. … The Sustainability Accounting Standards Board has tapped Michael Bloomberg and Mary Schapiro to serve as chair and vice chair, respectively, of SASB’s Board of Directors. Dr. Robert Eccles, Harvard Business School professor and SASB’s first board chairman, will continue to serve on the SASB board with a special focus on harmonization with other sustainability and integrated reporting organizations.

CONNECTICUT

Diana Piquette has joined The Phoenix Companies Inc. company as second vice president, GAAP Accounting & Assistant Controller. Piquette will be responsible for leading financial reporting activities including SEC filings and internal GAAP-based management reporting and analysis. Piquette was previously an audit manager at Deloitte & Touche, focused on life insurance accounts. Piquette earned her master’s and bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut and is a Certified Public Accountant.

FLORIDA

John Wszelaki, who was recently recognized by the Institute of Internal Auditors as one of the Most Influential Professionals in Government Auditing, was elected chairman this week of the organization’s North American Board.

KANSAS

Becky Sweet has been promoted to principal at Kennedy and Coe, Lenexa. Sweet works with commodity crops, cattle and feeder operations, and hog farms in Kansas and surrounding states. She provides long-term tax planning for clients who are interested in wealth preservation, business succession, and wealth-transfer strategies. Sweet brings a holistic approach, advising on day-to-day decisions and long-term growth strategies, often acting as a sounding board for families dealing with complex management decisions, involving multiple generations, and both on-farm and off-farm ownership.

WASHINGTON D.C.

James Hogan has taken on the role of managing director in the National Tax Office of WTAS in Washington, D.C. Hogan has more than 35 years of tax experience in both government and private sectors. Prior to WTAS Hogan worked at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel where he served as Branch Chief in the Pass-through and Special Industries Division, where he was responsible for estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues. Hogan is an instructor for the Georgetown University Law School Graduate Tax Program and he has been a frequent speaker at the District of Columbia Bar, California Bar and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, on the subject of estate tax planning. Hogan received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Saint Bonaventure University, his Master of Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his Juris Doctorate from Catholic University.
