Portland State University’s (PSU) School of Business Administration (SBA) announced last week a new master’s program - a hybrid course that will utilize both online and on-campus capabilities – dubbed the Master of Taxation program.

In addition to increasing the amount of accounting new-hires with graduate-level education, the program was created with flexibility in mind for working professionals.

“We saw that the demand for professionals with advanced tax knowledge is soaring in the United States, so we created a program uniquely designed to give graduates an edge,” stated Nancy Ganong Neslund, master of tax director at PSU. “Program coursework is online with quarterly on-campus meetings for greater flexibility. We also co-developed coursework with public accounting and corporate tax leaders, and designed it specifically for working business professionals in tax or law roles.”

Neslund also went on to state how the program’s students will have access to career advising and preparation tools to help them outline their careers.

“Our students will be closely engaged with faculty who have extensive tax experience,” she added. “They’ll also have access to a network employers who consistently recruit PSU graduates. The program is also designed to allow students to interact with high profile tax professionals.”

The 12-month Master of Taxation program is set to debut this summer. For more information on the program and PSU’s School of Business Administration, head to the University’s site here.
