R&B singer R. Kelly is facing an additional $1.38 million in tax liens from the Internal Revenue Service on top of the $4.8 million he already owes.

The Grammy-winning singer of “I Believe I Can Fly” and composer of the “hip hopera” music video series “Trapped in the Closet” reportedly owed $4,848,072.71 in unpaid taxes dating back to 2005 as of June of this year (see IRS Says R. Kelly Owes $4.8 Million in Back Taxes).

The IRS had filed a tax lien against the singer, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, last year for $837,442.59 (see Singer R. Kelly Faces IRS Tax Lien). The IRS has now added another $1,379,695.11 in unpaid taxes, for a total of more than $6.2 million, according to TMZ.

His representative told the site that he is “already communicating with the IRS about the payment process to quickly resolve the issue.”
