Rapper Buys Back His Property at IRS Auction

Rap singer Young Buck bought back some of the property that the Internal Revenue Service had seized for unpaid taxes.

The auction, which was to include items such as gold and platinum records and a poster of the Al Pacino movie “Scarface,” had been scheduled since a 2010 raid on the rapper’s Nashville home (see IRS to Auction off Young Buck’s Valuables). Other items included a diamond wristwatch, Royal Copenhagen bear figurines, a gold necklace and medallion, a snakeskin purse, faux fur coats, and LCD and plasma TVs.

But Young Buck, whose real name is David Darnell Brown, filed suit to stop the auction in October 2010 and held off the sale until this year (see IRS Calls off Auction of Rapper’s Seized Property). The rapper owed over $300,000 in delinquent taxes from 2006-2008.

The auction occurred last week in Nashville and raised $53,000 as part of a court-ordered liquidation. However, Young Buck posted on Twitter that he had managed to buy back some of his more treasured items, such as a fur coat and a diamond and ruby-studded chain. “Bitch I bought back the #Highest thing they Auctioned Off!! I didnt have room for all the #Old shit. Lol!! I’m Tooo #BrandNew,” he wrote, according to The Versed.

He also denied rumors that the IRS had tried to auction off his rap name. “And they Haven’t,Can’t,and will not SELL MY NAME!!! Just to get some #Real info out there,” he tweeted.
