RISCPA Names New Chair, Board Members

The Rhode Island Society of CPAs announced its new chairman and four new board members.

John Mathias, a partner at Piccerelli, Gilstein & Co. LLP, was named chair, succeeding Kenneth Andsager. Mathias, who handles audit and tax client issues, holds the Certified Valuation Analyst and Accredited in Business Valuation credentials, and is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts and Maine, in addition to Rhode Island.

The four new board members are Gerald Benson, Erica Guatieri, and Paul Ragosta.

[IMGCAP(1)][IMGCAP(2)]Benson, who is an Enrolled Agent as well as a CPA, is tax director for Ocean State Job Lot Inc., in North Kingstown.

Bonnette is a partner at Top Six firm RSM, in Boston, Mass., and serves as the firm's Boston office higher public sector practice leader, as well as a firm-designated higher education, not-for-profit, and government specialist.

Guatieri is a manager in the Small and Emerging Business Group at Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. Ltd., in Warwick.

[IMGCAP(3)][IMGCAP(4)]Ragosta is an attorney and auditor, and is the first representative of the society's new Professional Affiliate Membership Group to serve on the board.

The remaining members of the RISCPA Board include: 2017 chair-elect Barbara Perino, vice chair David Lucier, secretary Marianne Caserta, treasurer John Ayers, and Richard Botham, Pablo Cabrera and Buky Folami.
