SmartVault Enhances Client Portal, Now Works With QB Online

Cloud-based document management service SmartVault has added key enhancements to its client portal and is also now integrated with QuickBooks Online.

SmartVault’s client portal users can now view a variety of files types instantly including Microsoft Office documents, PDFs, Outlook email messages, and more than a half-dozen other graphic file formats. SmartVault users, including guests, also now have the ability to view documents in a browser without having to download them or own the software in which the file was created; view documents without having to download them and remember to delete them; browse and preview files first in the client portal; and view, share, download, copy, and move files from a single location in the client portal.

“We have a commitment to our customers to continually make SmartVault faster, more convenient, and more secure for our users,” said SmartVault founder and chief executive Eric Pulaski. “Now our customers can work faster and smarter in the client portal, because they don’t have to download their files and wait for an application to load just to see the files they need. Plus, customers have an extra level of security in managing their files, as they don’t have to remember to go back and delete files they’ve downloaded to their computer—this is especially important for customers that frequently share files with confidential information.”

In addition, SmartVault’s Toolbar technology for QuickBooks has been extended to support QuickBooks Online. The integration allows QuickBooks Online users to attach and view source documents such as receipts, bills, and invoices directly from within QuickBooks Online.

SmartVault for QuickBooks Online was built using the SmartVault Software Developers Kit (SDK) which was released last fall. Earlier this year, SmartVault released a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook, which was also built using the SmartVault SDK.

SmartVault is currently working with other developer partners to support its Toolbar integration across multiple accounting systems and business applications.
