IRS Files $92K Tax Lien against American Idol Fantasia

Fantasia Barrino, the Grammy-nominated R&B singer who won American Idol in 2004, is reportedly facing a tax lien for nearly $100,000 from the Internal Revenue Service.

The Web site The Jasmine Brand reported that the IRS filed a $92,837 tax lien against the singer in a California court on May 1.

Despite hit albums and appearances in two Broadway shows, the 30-year-old singer has been facing financial challenges in recent years. She was sued by her bank in 2011 over an unpaid $25,000 debt and lost her home to foreclosure in 2013, according to Contactmusic.
