IRS Seeks ACT Applicants

The IRS is looking for applicants for vacancies on the Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities, or ACT, which provides advice and public input on the various areas of tax administration served by the Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division.

The ACT is an organized public forum for the IRS and representatives who deal with employee plans, exempt organizations, tax-exempt bonds, and federal, state, local and Indian tribal governments. The ACT allows the IRS to receive regular input on administrative policies and procedures of TE/GE.

Vacancies in various customer segments include two committee seats in both employee plans and exempt organizations and one vacancy in both federal, state and local governments, and Indian tribal governments. There are no vacancies this year in the tax-exempt bonds segment.

Members are appointed by the Department of the Treasury and serve three-year terms beginning in June 2016. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 4.

Applicants must complete ACT Membership Application Form 12339-C; incomplete applications will not be processed. Send applications via fax to (888) 269-7419 or via e-mail to tege.advisory.comm@irs.gov.
