Wolters Kluwer Launches CodeConnect

Wolters Kluwer, Tax & Accounting US announced the launch of CCH CodeConnect, an enhancement to its IntelliConnect research platform that aims to help users get quick, practical answers to questions about federal tax law.

Announced at the 2015 CCH Connections User Conference, being held here this week, CCH CodeConnect makes it easier to get useful information out of the Internal Revenue Code by offering more context around searches; displaying all the related materials – from code text and related regulations to Wolters Kluwer’s analysis, checklists, client tools and decision aids – in the search results; and reformulating and in some cases rewriting the materials to make them more immediately useful to users.

The practical explanations, relevant answers, checklists, forms, guidance and other tools “are being injected into the content to say, ‘This what the code means, but this is also how you can use it in real life,’” said Josh Braunstein, vice president and general manager of Wolters Kluwer, Tax & Accounting US, CCH Research & Learning, in an interview with Accounting Today.

CodeConnect will launch covering well over 100 of the most commonly researched code sections, with more to be added on an ongoing basis in the future.

“It’ll be a pretty complete package [at launch],” Braunstein said, “but we will continue to grow and evolve the platform. CodeConnect is not a one-and-done. You’re going to see iterative improvements coming to Code and to other parts of the platform continuously all through next year. They will run the gamut from adding to our state content, to adding more tools and creating more usable information in our interfaces.”

CCH CodeConnect will begin rolling out for free to IntelliConnect users in early December.
