Ward to Leave Intuit

One of Intuit’s main ambassadors to the accounting profession, Jill Ward, announced that she will be leaving the accounting and business software company in March.

Ward has been with Intuit for 12 years, most recently as chief of its Accountant & Advisor Group, helping build and maintain the company’s relationships with ProAdvisors and the profession as a whole. In an e-mail to colleagues, she explained that she would be moving from California back to Boston to be near family.

“I love Intuit, and have loved working with my customers, my partners and my advisors,” she wrote. “Together, we’ve made tremendous strides in helping accountants and small businesses grow and prosper.”

She will be succeeded by Jim McGinnis, who joined Intuit in 2010 as vice president of marketing for the Accounting Professionals Division, after a series of marketing positions at a number of companies, including Procter & Gamble and Pepsi.

“I am leaving you in good hands,” Ward wrote of McGinnis. “Jim has led accountant teams since he joined Intuit in 2010. … He has been responsible for the ProAdvisor Program worldwide, the Intuit Accountant Advisory Council, and many of our efforts in professional tax and accounting. I know he will be a wonderful voice and partner for all of Intuit’s precious accountants and ProAdvisors.”
