NYSSCPA's Young CPA Conference slated for July

The New York State Society of CPAs’ Foundation for Accounting Education announced it will hold its annual Young CPA Conference July 15-17 in Verona, N.Y.

Hosted by the Utica Chapter of the NYSSCPA at the Turning Stone Resort, the conference will be keynoted by former American Institute of CPA chairman Ernest A. Almonte, auditor general for the state of Rhode Island from 1994 to 2001 and current chairman-elect of the National Financial Literacy Commission.

Topics at the event will include professional integrity, public speaking, business writing and forensic accounting.

“Communication skills, managing multiple projects, and networking effectively to build relationships are some of the essential tools a young CPA needs to develop and seriously cultivate to be successful in their careers,” said NYSSCPA president Gail Kinsella in a statement. “The most valuable young professionals I have had the pleasure of working with have one thing in common — a solid command of the business aspects of our profession.”
